Your rights (summary)

EU261 compensation applies to flights departing the EU (and into the EU on EU airlines), so it usually does not cover flights between Asia and these countries.
Complain to the airline first, in writing, with the documents above. Keep copies of everything.
Summary: Türkiye's passenger rights regulation (SHY-YOLCU) covers flights departing Turkish airports (any airline) and flights into Türkiye on Turkish carriers. For cancellation, denied boarding and, since a December 2024 amendment, arrival at the final destination 3 hours or more late for technical or operational reasons, compensation is EUR 250, 400 or 600 by distance on international flights and EUR 100 on domestic flights (paid in Turkish lira). Extraordinary circumstances such as weather or strikes may be excluded.
Claim from the airline in writing first; if unresolved, you can complain to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM). Check the regulation text and SHGM guidance for exact conditions.
