🇹🇼 Taiwan lost passport and theft警察
Police report, lost passport, items left in a taxi. What you tick stays on your phone. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere.
If you lost your passport: the steps
- Search once more first. Once you report it lost, the passport is cancelled even if you find it later.
- Report the loss or theft at the nearest police station and get a police report or report number. Your insurer, your embassy and often immigration will ask for it. Use the cards above.
- Contact your embassy or consulate. Usually you need passport photos, any ID or a copy of the lost passport, and your onward ticket.
- In Taiwan, besides the police report, get a certificate of the lost foreign passport record (外國護照遺失紀錄證明) from a National Immigration Agency service center. The Korean Mission asks for it when you apply for an emergency passport, and it is used at exit control. Check with the Mission whether any other immigration step is needed for the new passport before you leave.

Before you go
Mobile data (eSIM)
If you get sick or lose something in Taiwan, maps, translation and calling for help all need data. Install an eSIM before you fly and it works as soon as you land.
Airport transfers and transport
Taxis and directions are the hardest part when you can't speak the language in Taiwan. Booking an airport pickup or transport pass in advance means less to explain on arrival.
