🇮🇩 Indonesia (Bali)
Show-the-local phrase cards for when you are sick or lose something abroad
Emergency numbers
If a life is in danger, call the emergency number first.
Good to know here
- In Bali, report theft or loss by calling 110 or 112, or go to the nearest police station (Polsek, Polres) and get a loss report (Surat Keterangan Kehilangan). Tourist areas such as Kuta and Seminyak have Tourist Police posts where English help is easier to get.
- Outside office hours the Bali Consulate refers callers to the Consular Call Center in Seoul (+82-2-3210-0404). The Jakarta Embassy's after-hours line also works.
- Watch out for scooter accidents, methanol-tainted homemade liquor (arak), and dog or monkey bites (rabies).
Before you go
Mobile data (eSIM)
If you get sick or lose something in Indonesia (Bali), maps, translation and calling for help all need data. Install an eSIM before you fly and it works as soon as you land.
Airport transfers and transport
Taxis and directions are the hardest part when you can't speak the language in Indonesia (Bali). Booking an airport pickup or transport pass in advance means less to explain on arrival.
