🇵🇹 Portugal
Show-the-local phrase cards for when you are sick or lose something abroad
Emergency numbers
If a life is in danger, call the emergency number first.
Good to know here
- Pickpocketing is common on Lisbon's tram 28, in the Baixa and around tourist sights.
- Report theft or loss to the police (PSP, or GNR outside cities). Lisbon has a tourist police station (Esquadra de Turismo) at Praça dos Restauradores.
Before you go
Mobile data (eSIM)
If you get sick or lose something in Portugal, maps, translation and calling for help all need data. Install an eSIM before you fly and it works as soon as you land.
Airport transfers and transport
Taxis and directions are the hardest part when you can't speak the language in Portugal. Booking an airport pickup or transport pass in advance means less to explain on arrival.
